Record-breaking Fellowship Applications
Dear Friends,
I hope this finds you doing well. I’m writing this from Washington, DC where tonight I’ll be hosting a 2-day strategic retreat with Men4Choice Advocacy’s Virginia Organizers – who are taking direct action to elect pro-choice champions in the Virginia special elections as we support our partner Repro Rising VA (there will be 4 virtual phone and text banks to directly reach voters, first next Tuesday 9/16, and two in person days of action 10/11 and 11/1). It is not lost on me that in writing from our nation’s capitol city, and especially about to spend time with Men4Choice Fellowship alumni we’ve now hired into these roles, that if we are to harness the power of allyship rooted in our mission, we have to think ahead in terms of preparing future leaders for service, whether it’s in their local communities or in the Halls of Congress. And being a leader means taking action now like our Virginia guys are doing.’
Today, we also mark the end of our current cycle for receiving applications to join the Men4Choice Fellowship Program – that same leadership development pipeline that’s leading to Men4Choice Advocacy’s Virginia program. Here’s a one minute video I filmed for the application deadline, as we make more of a push to speak out online and reach guys directly where they are – everywhere, which includes on their phones. By far, this has been our most competitive process to date, proving that our pipeline of leadership in securing male allies in the fight for reproductive freedom is stronger than ever before. One of the reasons interest has increased in this flagship program is that we are doing everything we can to make the process more dynamic and available to anyone who wants to apply.
To accomplish this, we’ve hosted in-person events in every state where Men4Choice is active, along with virtual events featuring Chelsea Clinton (September 2) and National Honorary Co-Chair Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist (September 8) to boost recruitment. Our organizing and alumni teams have also promoted the opportunity through their networks. Organic recruitment remains our most effective tool – demonstrating that Fellows continue to pay it forward and maintain lasting leadership within the organization.
For those of you who are newer to learning about our Fellowship Program, we seek to recruit young male-identifying leaders who want to deepen their understanding and engagement in the fight for abortion access and reproductive freedom. This virtual fellowship offers the opportunity to explore the key issues in the fight for reproductive freedom, learn how to be an effective pro-choice ally, build new organizing skills and relationships, grow your influence and professional network, and enhance your resume and organizing credentials. Working with us, you’ll have the chance to learn from and train with some of the most experienced organizers and progressive leaders in the movement. Applications are due tonight 9/12 by midnight EST and you can apply here.
Thank you for reading through this report.I look forward to keeping you updated in the next Choice Report later this month. Until then, take care of yourself, keep organizing and mobilizing, and know that we are in this for the long-haul.
Yours in the fight,
Aaron Bos-Lun

We Are Everywhere
I hope that you will enjoy some rest and respite around the upcoming holiday. Our opponents want us to be exhausted, but we are committed to taking everything they throw our way and coming back stronger each time around.
As we look toward the remainder of 2025, and as we prepare for 2026, my goal is we keep getting the feedback we love to get: Men4Choice is everywhere! Last weekend, I was in North Carolina while Men4Choice was simultaneously on the ground in Wisconsin and Texas, creating entry points for young men to take action. This is what ongoing organizing looks like!

It’s important for us all to recognize and own that engagement doesn’t come naturally – we must build and will it into existence. Tonight, our team is running events in two parts of Georgia – Rights & Rounds in Atlanta, GA with Men4Choice’s Youth Organizing Director, Davan’te Jennings, and a Men4Choice Social in Convington, GA with Georgia Youth Organizing Coordinator, Blake Robinson, and alumni Men4Choice Fellow/Young Democrats of Newton County President, Zayvion Sheppard. Bringing young Pro-Choice men off the sidelines into action takes work, and we’re doing it!

Our Emerging Leaders
As you now know, I’ll be sending you “The Choice Report” every two weeks, outlining our progress, goals, objectives, and, at times, our challenges. For this report, I’d love to tell you more about our Youth Fellowship Program where we are cultivating the next generation of men who will stand, advocate, and fight for reproductive freedom. This program pulls together 18-28 year old men who spend 10 weeks learning about the issue of reproductive freedom and running three peer-to-peer educational programs, directly reaching their male peers.

Piloted in the summer of 2020 with 7 fellows, we now have a thriving initiative with over 90 young men participating, which directly engages over 1,000 young men who will enter a pipeline of emerging leaders that we will need in the months and years to come as our work expands and deepens across the country. In addition, we are proud of the diversity of the program, which includes over 50% men of color and 30% participation from the LGBTQ+ community. In an effort to keep these cohorts active, I’m incredibly proud to share that 72% of our alumni, stretching back 5 years, are actively involved in our work to this day.
As you can see, the trajectory and growth of this program is remarkable, which is made possible because of supporters like you.
Through this engagement, we are also hiring alumni to join the Men4Choice team, which now includes our first-ever full-time Communications Director, Zabien Grochowski. Zabien has done an amazing job building our grassroots “Digital Army”, including providing trainings on how to speak out online. We’ve already had some early successes – one of our Fellows posted a clip on Instagram, which was viewed 3.6 million times (view here), and a recent clip of me speaking on why men need to be more outspoken for reproductive freedom, this being viewed over 250,000 times (view here).

On August 23rd, I’ll be in Raleigh, NC for an organizing event where we are partnering with Planned Parenthood, Let Us Lead, and the University of North Carolina. This educational “call to action” is just one example of how we are engaging young men in our mission and vision for the future. Not only is it aimed with purpose, it’s being put together by one of our alumni organizers, Quinn Allred, who has done an incredible job bringing this event to fruition. You can RSVP here if you happen to be in NC. I’ll also be sure to provide a debrief on the gathering in the next Choice Report.
Until the next Choice Report, you have my sincerest and utmost thanks for your ongoing friendship and support. If you ever need us or have any questions, please reach out to us info@men4choice.org
Introducing the Choice Report
As I mark six months as Men4Choice’s first full-time Executive Director, I’ve spent time listening—to our founders, supporters, volunteers, Fellows, alumni, and partners across the reproductive freedom movement. In a moment this urgent, I don’t take the role lightly. Pro-choice men are being called to act – and our team is ready to do just that.

With this experience and knowledge as I continue to grow in this role, I’m pleased to introduce you to The Choice Report, a bi-weekly update that you will be receiving detailing our work at Men4Choice, as well as what we are seeing in this movement as we all work together to achieve the same result – full reproductive freedom. The Choice Report will also allow you to see what we have planned for our next 10 years as we are now celebrating the 10th anniversary since our founding.
Let me be clear, you will never receive a donation request or solicitation through these reports. While there is a time for this, we also need space where we can learn from one another, and where I can provide you with an inside look into our current work, impact, and, most importantly, the work ahead. If we are to win the fight for reproductive justice, it’s important for all like-minded organizations to lift one another up as this will take more than a village – it will take ALL of us.

Just last week, I had the chance to speak at the Voters of Tomorrow Summit, where young leaders from across the country came together to organize, take action, and fight for our democracy. Now, more than ever, we need to be in community and we need to be directly reaching young men. In a full circle moment, I spoke at the summit following Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, someone I have long admired for her relentless commitment to bodily autonomy even at times when it’s under attack or not popular. Earlier in the week we had over 100 young men attend our Men4Choice mixer with the College Democrats of America, where they heard from Reproductive Freedom for All CEO Mini Timmaraju, Congresswoman Jan Schacowsky, and Congressman Gabe Amo about the need to fight for reproductive freedom.

As Executive Director at Men4Choice, my goal is to listen to you, to learn from our partners in this fight, and to elevate my colleagues who share in our mission and vision for short and long-term impact, both in the political arena and through ours and others cultivation programs, such as our fellows network and internship programs that are developing emerging leaders for the future.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read these reports. My first full report will be delivered to you on August 15th. In the meantime, take care and I look forward to staying connected with you through these communications.
