Marie Khan recently joined the ranks of Midwest Access Coalition, which provides accommodation and support for those traveling to, from, and within the Midwest to access safe, legal abortion, as the Director of Outreach. She works in graduate administration at the University of Illinois of Chicago, and has been with UIC since 2008. She earned her bachelor of arts in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master of arts in Criminology, Law and Justice at UIC. While in graduate school she held a clerkship at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the Felony Trial Division. Marie has spent much of her life in the Midwest, and is particularly concerned with the political posturing, imposed barriers, and overall lack of regional resources for reproductive health and bodily autonomy. Immigrant, refugee, and non-citizen rights in America are also of great importance to her, impacting both her personal and professional life.
