Julian Federle oversees operations and strategic planning for the Legislative Affairs, Policy, and Programs Divisions for Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs. In addition to overseeing the Office’s legislative and policy priorities, Julian leads the Office’s public facing investment offerings, including Illinois’ 529 College Savings and ABLE Programs, and is currently developing its Secure Choice program. Julian believes that the financial system must evolve to expand financial services to the unbanked and under-banked, women, and minorities across the income spectrum. Julian has collaborated with academic institutions such as Georgetown University and The University of Chicago, and policy advocates like PEW, the Aspen Institute, the Illinois Asset Building Group, and the Woodstock Institute to re-architect both the marketing and structure of investment and banking products offered by the Treasurer’s Office. Julian enjoys BBQing, the Chicago White Sox, and listing three things at the end of his bio.
